On a cold winters day...... A trip to the city of Kassel

Although the weather was not really inviting, the engaged students, professors and lecturers went on an excursion to Kassel on Friday the 14^th of November. First on the intinerary was a visit to the reconstructed Unterneustadt, where the residential quarter in the inner city has been redeveloped.
After an extensive tour of this area the group went to have lunch at the Universities Dining Hall at the Holländischer Platz.
In the afternoon a guided tour of the Marbachshöhe was arranged. Marbachshöhe is a former military site which has been converted into a residential and working quarter. Dirk Schumacher, CEO, and Urban Keller, Project Manager of the Unternehmensgruppe Nassauische Heimstätte Wohnstadt, took us through the area and explained the development of this project in detail.
