To officially enroll at the FFH:
The following steps outline the process to get registered at the Frankfurt Fachhochschule. Arrival: Before arriving in Frankfurt, please share your flight itinerary with our program office. We can arrange for an escort from the airport to your lodging if requested. From the airport, we will travel via public transit to the accommodations you arranged with out coordination office. Be sure to have Euros in advance to pay for the tickets. Normally students stay at the Youth Hostel upon arrival until the scheduled check-in date with the student dormatory Friedrich Dessauer-Haus (FDH). Banking: Establish a bank account as quickly as possible. A special foreign student "blocked" account must be established to satisfy German embassy requirements. The Frankfurter Sparkasse has branches in the vicinity of the student accommodation as well as the university. Information (only in German) can be found here www.frankfurter-sparkasse.de Deutsche Bank also has many locations in Frankfurt and throughout Germany. www.deutsche-bank.de/index_e.htm You will need a local bank account in order to pay the tuition fees as well as to pay the security deposit for the room. The tuition fees take several working days for the FH to process. International Office: Once the tuition fees have been processed, visit Frau Kaboth in the International Office located in building 1 room 4 on the ground floor. She will verify your official original documents (diplomas, transcripts, etc) which will allow you to enroll. Health Insurance: A health insurance policy with a local German provider is required during your course of study. During the introductory week there will be an opportunity to sign up for an account with AOK or the Techniker Krankenkasse on site. Student Office: Once obtaining the approval from Frau Kaboth and a health insurance policy, visit the student office (Studienbüro) located on the ground floor of building 1. The student offices are in rooms 24 - 26 and the office hours are Monday - Friday 0900 - 1200; Tuesdays and Thursdays 1300 - 1600. Get a number from the the machine on the wall next to room 24 and wait to be called. After the student office conducts the final checks, you will be officially enrolled and issued your STUDY-CHIP.
