First steps after enrollment
There are a three final steps to validate your university enrollment, resident status in the City of Frankfurt as well as your Student Visa for Germany. STUDY-CHIP: The STUDY-CHIP serves three important functions: student identification, library card and ticket for public transportation within the RMV service district of the Rhein-Main area. After receiving your STUDY-CHIP, use the self-service machines outside the student office to change your password and print your student enrollment verification. Copies of your enrollment (Studienbescheinigung) are needed at the resident and foreign affairs offices. Place the chip on top of the sensor to activate the machine. The initial password is set to your birthday in the format DDMMYYYY. Select a new four-digit, numeric PIN and safeguard your code. If you forget your PIN, or after three incorrect PIN entries, you must visit the student office to reset your STUDY-CHIP. The code can be changed using the self-service machines during the building opening hours.
