Transatlantic Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program in Information Systems (TraDIS)

Transatlantic Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program in Information Systems (TraDIS) is
a joint educational program by four educational institutions:

1. Kemi-Tornio University of Applied Sciences (Finland)
2. Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (Germany)
3. University of Massachusetts Boston (USA)
4. University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (USA)


This educational program focuses on studying information systems with selected business and computer science courses. As part of their respective degree programs, TraDIS students will spend a semester at each partner university and can receive two Bachelor’s degrees: one from the home institution and one from a partner university. The costs of travel, living, and studying will be supported by the TraDIS project.

Eligibility for participation

Students interested in the TraDIS Program will need to apply through one of the partner universities.

The following criteria may be used in the selection process:

Academic achievements: high school records with particular emphasis on quantitative aptitude and technical exposure and/or academic performance during the first semester (half-semester in KTUAS), results of the entrance examination.

Motivation and involvement:
can be checked through personal interviews. The quality and quantity of student participation in extracurricular and community-based activities, including student clubs and competitive organizations, athletics, social-service activities, faith-based memberships, family responsibility, and employment, will be considered to ensure well-rounded participants who would take greatest advantage of the opportunities provided.

Commitment: through interviews, recommendations, and essays, students will be judged on their likely ability to profit from cross-cultural exchange and to serve as ambassadors

Diversity: admissions decisions will seek to enhance the diversity of students in terms of ethnicity, gender, cultural background, and interests in order to create as inclusive and representative a cohort as possible.

Language: Students at all four institutions in the Consortium will need to demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English to participate in the Program. Proficiency in German and/or Finnish is not required but will be considered in the selection process.
