Language requirements for Bachelor programs
Upon application
Together with your application documents you must submit a certification of your German language skills. This also applies for German nationalswhose mother tongue is not German. If your school and university documents do not allow for direct entry into our Bachelor programs the lowest level sufficient for taking the entry exam to the Preparatory College is German B 1 according to the European Frame of Reference). It is not sufficient for direct Fachhochschule entry. A medium level, e.g. “Zentrale Mittelstufenprüfung ZMP”, " DSH 1 or TestDaF 4*3 TDN is sufficient for taking the “Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang DSH” (German Language Test for Higher Education Entry) in case your school and university documents do allow for direct Fachhochschule entry. Certifcation of language school applications or mere participation certificates won’t do!! | Upon enrolment
Any applicant accepted for direct Fachhochschule entry must show sufficient language skills proven by the DSH exam. Equivalent exams are Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung ZOP or Kleines oder Großes Sprachdiplom or Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz (all of them being Goethe Institute exams) or the TestDaF exam. „DSH, Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang“ You can only take this exam in a German university. Taking the DSH exam in Frankfurt requires the formal admission to one of our programs. Without a pass in that exam on level 2 a student will not be enrolled: admission will expire automatically. Exemption from this exam is possible only after a personal interview with the Director of the Preparatory College in Frankfurt. TestDaF (Test of German as a Foreign Language) Fachhochschule enrolment requires a test result of 4*4 TDN for all programs. One TDN 3 might be compensated by a TDN 5. The test is offered worldwide in TestDaF-centers. |
