Application for Master programs

Dear prospective applicant,

We are glad that you consider our university to continue your studies in one of our Master programs.

Please turn to the list of Master Programs in order to find more detailed information.

We normally differ between “consecutive” programs building on a Bachelor degree and more “executive” ones building more or less on professional experience.

The duration of the majority of Master programs at the Fachhochschule is two years or four semesters (120 ECTS credits). However there are specific exceptions which you can see from the list of programmes available.

According to the specific program the language of instruction is either German or English, sometimes a mix of both.

Please notice that all applicants holding international school leaving certificates have to submit application form and required documentation to the International Office at Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main.
the documents to be submitted -if not in German- have to be translated and authenticated either from abroad (Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany) or from inside Germany (notary or "Ortsgericht").

Admission requirements

Admission is possible for graduates from Bachelor programs which are equivalent to the German standards. The standards are set by the federal office for credential evaluations (“Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen” Bonn) and are derived from the educational system of the applicants’ home countries. Be aware that not any three-year-degree allows for the direct entry in one of our Master's programs.
The average mark of the Bachelor’s degree should normally match the German mark “good”. The International Office staff at the Fachhochschule is converting your marks from home into the German system upon application.
In addition to these formal requirements there are different subject related requirements in place which are described in the degree programs list.
Finally applicants must match the language requirements of the program.

Language requirements

If the language of instruction is German or a mix of German and English we require the DSH language test (“Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang”) on level 2 or the TestDaF language test (“Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache”) on level 4*4 TDN.
You can only do DSH in a German university whereas TestDaF may be done in one of the many test centers in Germany and abroad.
Graduates from German taught degree programs get exemption from proving German language proficiency.

If the language of instruction is English we require TOEFL 213 (79/80 internet based) or IELTS 6 or Cambridge First Certificate, Level A. Graduates from English speaking backgroubnds and graduates from English taught programs get exemption from proving English language proficiency.

Application deadlines

Applicants with degrees from outside Germany must submit their application by

April 15 for winter semester entry and by

October 15 for spring semester entry (“Sommersemester”)
