What does "Studium Generale" mean?

Studium Generale is the name of a series of interdisciplinary modules (5 ECTS credits each). The Studium Generale module is part of any undergraduate programme at the Fachhochschule and participation in one of the modules offered is mandatory for all undergraduate students.
Each module deals with a generalized topic to which at least three different disciplines contribute in their particular way. Thus students meet with students and staff from different faculties: they learn about various scientific approaches to the topic and the way how problems are dealt with in other disciplines. At the same time they will be able to transfer methodology and contents of their own subject area to their classmates.
The Studium Generale module is meant for developing transdisciplinary thinking and cooperative action skills.

Examples of such modules are: Globalization, International Technology Management, Managing Diversity, Global City Regions - Life, Organisation, Ethics. The list of modules will be updated constantly.
