Necessarily incoming students do not only ask for courses but are also highly interested in knowing about housing opportunities, meal plans and recreational facilities.

Housing

Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main is a "commuter university": many German students live with their families outside of town. On contrary, the majority of international students live in student dorms or private rooms.
In a city like Frankfurt private rooms are a spare good (and mostly expensive, too - from € 300 onward).
The university itself does not run student dorms: according to state law dorms are provided by the so-called "Studentenwerk" (a public corporation) or private and semi-private companies/associations (€ 180-250).

There is a contingent of rooms available to exchange students (through the university's International Office), Study Abroad Students and other international (degree seeking) students will have to apply directly to the Studentenwerk and/or to the other providers (cf. address list).

Catering

There is an on-campus student and staff canteen, open Mon-Thu from 7h30 a.m. to 3h30 p.m., Fri from 7h30 a.m. to 3 p.m., where breakfast  and basically three reasonably priced menues are served.
There are also several student-run cafeterias in different university buildings. These are lively spots and a hub for spreading the latest student news.
A variety of restaurants and fast food stores as well as a supermarket are located around the university.

Sports

The university is proud to run a very extended indoor and outdoor sports program for students and staff. You will find courses ranging from Archery  to Yoga and from Volleyball to Badminton. Most of the courses are free of charge. Outdorr sports events are offered at low prices.
The full program is listed in a special brochure issued at the beginning of each semester.
Taking part in the sports program is an outstanding opportunity to meet domestic and other international students. On the other hand: If you have something to offer as a sports coach, feel free to fill an application to the university's sports office!
